Melise Cook, second-year retail student from Atlanta, Ga.

Cook is involved in AAAS, NAACP, and has previously served in the senate in 2005. She is also a part of the Carolina Reads Program.

Cook is running for the student senate because she would like to increase student involvement so that voices may be heard. She would also like to ensure that as an African American female, that African Americans are fairly represented.

If re-elected, Cook plans to address:

-the canteen area in the HRTM college

-parking for HRTM students

-the facilities at the HRTM school
