Matt Bartch, a first-year finance and spanish student from St. Louis, Mo.
Bartch is running for senate because of his interest in student government and his previous experience in high school.
If elected, Bartch wants to address the following key issues:
-work for an on-campus grocery store
-attempt to establish a "Today at Carolina" schedule on VIP listing all announcements and events for a given day or week
-work to advertise campus events more strongly to increase freshmen involvement
Bartch's strategy for the election is to show people that he is very interested in student life and very serious about helping students become involved while remaining strong in academics.
Sharika Richardson, second-year business student from Dillon, S.C.
Richardson has previously served as student body president and secretary at her high school.
Richardson is running because she is trying to play an active role at USC. She wants to make an impact on the progress at USC in the years to come through student government.
If elected, Richardson would like to act as a voice for the business students at USC to ensure that their needs and concerns are not overlooked.
Scott Spivey, a third-year finance student from Camden, S.C.
Spivey has previously served in Student Government and as vice chair of the Finance Committee.
Spivey is running to serve the business school and address student concerns.
If elected, Spivey plans to address:
-escalating textbook prices
-making sure Student Government funds are allocated appropriately and undergraduates receive a fair share
-improving the grade forgiveness program
-creating a scholarship through student government
-parking concerns with new facilities
