Mike Davis, who lead the Gamecocks the past two years in rushing yards, hopes to help out the 49ers next year. The 49ers ended up 4th in the NFL in rushing yards per game.

The 2015 NFL Draft concluded Saturday with rounds 4-7. In all, three Gamecocks were drafted and two more were signed to teams as undrafted free agents.

The first to go off the board on Saturday was running back Mike Davis. The 5-foot-9, 217 pound back followed in the footsteps of his predecessor Marcus Lattimore, going in the fourth round to the San Francisco 49ers as the 126th overall pick.

Lattimore, the 131st overall pick by the 49ers in the 2013 draft, tweeted his support for Davis shortly after the 49ers announced the selection.

After seeing no Gamecock names in the fifth and sixth rounds, two Gamecocks were selected in the seventh and final round.

With the 240th pick in the draft, the Detroit Lions took offensive tackle Corey Robinson. Seen by many as a late fifth round selection, Robinson slipped a bit in the draft before being the second offensive lineman take by the Lions.

The 49ers continued their tradition of drafted Gamecocks as they selected tight end Rory Anderson with the 254th pick. Anderson will join Davis and former Gamecock wide receiver Bruce Ellington in San Francisco.

The draft concluded after 256 picks and Saturday became a mad scramble for undrafted free agents.

At this point, two Gamecocks have signed with teams. Wide receiver Damiere Byrd signed with the Panthers soon after the conclusion of the draft.

The speedster ran a 4.28 second 40 in his Pro Day.

Quarterback Dylan Thompson tweeted that like Anderson and Davis, he had been signed by the 49ers.

All rookies will report to rookie minicamps next week.

Update 10:01 p.m: Wide receiver Nick Jones will be reunited with former Gamecock quarterback Connor Shaw in Cleveland after being signed by the Browns.
