Clinton delays Charlotte trip amid protests

Hillary Clinton's campaign is delaying a trip to Charlotte, North Carolina, as protests over the killing of an African American man by police continue, WIS reports. The campaign announced the trip Friday, but Charlotte Mayor Jennifer Roberts publicly requested the visit be delayed for security purposes. Roberts also asked Republican nominee Donald Trump to not visit the city in the coming days. The visit is tentatively rescheduled for Oct. 2. Clinton weighed in on the controversy surrounding the death of Keith Lamont Scott via Twitter on Friday by calling on the city to release police video of the shooting.

Stray cat potentially spread rabies

A stray kitten may have spread rabies to as many as nine people in Clarendon County, WLTX reports. The animal, picked up near Summerton in August, began to display symptoms earlier in September. This is the third animal to contract rabies in Clarendon County in 2016. Other animals may have also been exposed to the virus by the cat.

Black Lives Matter march set for S.C. Statehouse

Black Lives Matter is planning a rally in Columbia next weekend, The Free Times reports. The group plans to gather on Oct. 1 at the Statehouse at 7 p.m. The protest comes after another set of shootings by police that left two African Americans dead and led to major unrest in Charlotte, North Carolina. Black Lives Matter held another march in Columbia in July which stayed peaceful and led to no arrests.
