Car crash causes house fire, kills two

Two people were killed Saturday when their car crashed into a home and caught fire, WIS reports. The two men, who were father and son, ran a stop sign and hit a home on Tookie Doo Lane in Elgin. The homeowners were able to escape without injury. South Carolina Highway Patrol is still investigating the crash.

Teen killed in Lexington crash

The person killed in crash on Highway 1 Friday was identified as a teenager, WLTX reports. Taylor Kizer, 17, of Lexington, died at a local hospital of injuries sustained in the accident. The Lexington County Coroner's Office and South Carolina Highway Patrol and both are investigating.

Allen University fires president

Dr. Lady June Cole, former president of Columbia's Allen University, was fired and escorted off the campus on Friday, WIS reports. The reasons for her termination have not been released. A new president has since been named by the University Board of Trustees and is reported to be starting on Monday, but the name of the new president has also not been released.
