Two women shot late Monday

Two women were shot by a man they reportedly knew Monday evening, The State reports. The incident took place at Boardwalk Villas in Lexington. Both women were taken to an area hospital, and no arrests have been made. Officials are still investigating the shooting.

Haley announces new veterans' committee

Gov. Nikki Haley formed a new advisory committee for veterans' issues at the state and local level, WIS reports. The group, which will include 15 members from state government and the military community, will make policy recommendations to the state's Military Base Task Force. It was officially convened by an executive order from Haley on Monday.

Missing Lexington detainee recaptured

A man wanted for domestic violence and drug charges was recaptured by Lexington officials Monday evening, WLTX reports. The suspect, 37-year-old Corey Eaglin, escaped from Lexington Medical Center after being arrested Monday morning. He faces a domestic violence charge plus pending drug charges, and officials say more charges may be filed.
