SJMC celebrates National Punctuation Day

<p></p>

The School of Journalism and Mass Communications held a giveaway Monday in celebration of National Punctuation Day. Students were encouraged to find and bring a published error to the event in order to receive either a SJMC T-shirt or cup.

Rebekah Friedman, development coordinator in the College of Information and Communications, hosted the giveaway in her office. According to Friedman, the event is useful in helping students understand "that even professionals make punctuation mistakes."

National Punctuation Day, which is officially on Sept. 24, brings awareness to the importance of using correct grammar and punctuation.
