Deputies investigate report of man shot and robbed

A Richland county man is recovering from non-life threatening injuries after he was reportedly robbed and shot on Sunday outside his home, The State reports. According to Sgt. Brittany Jackamonis of the Richland County Sheriff's Department, two masked men robbed the 76-year-old of his wallet as he was taking out the trash and then shot him in the upper body. Deputies continue to investigate the crime and encourage any information about possible suspects to be directed to CrimeStoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.

First African-American SC Senator wins full term

Sen. Tim Scott has earned his first full term in the U.S. Senate after defeating his Democratic opponent, Thomas Dixon, in the election Tuesday, WIS reports. He will begin his six-year term after finishing out the term he assumed when former Sen. Jim DeMint resigned in 2013. Scott openly supports Republican president-elect Donald Trump. 

SC Senator Lindsey Graham chooses not to vote for Trump

South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham has announced that he cast his vote for independent candidate Evan McMullin, The State reports. Graham said on Twitter that he was unable to put his support behind either major-party candidate in the election and that he especially liked McMullin's "views on a strong America."
