Tuesday, April 4

Birdcage Drag Show

This year marks the 20th annual Birdcage drag show. Two student performers and a host of professional queens will perform at what has been called USC's largest nonsporting event.This event is hosted by Carolina Productions and IRIS, and it will take place in the Russell House Ballroom at 7 p.m. This event is free with a valid CarolinaCard. 

Earthstock

Healthy Carolina Farmer's Market and Sustainable Carolina partnered to create Earthstock. This festival is designed to celebrate Earth Day with music, crafts, activities and learn more about sustainability. This free event will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Greene Street. 

Wednesday, April 5

Darius Rucker at Colonial Life Arena

Darius Rucker, a USC alumni and founder of popular band Hootie and the Blowfish, will perform a free concert at Colonial Life Arena on Wednesday. In August, Rucker promised to perform for students if the Gamecocks scored six wins during the 2016 -17 football season. Rucker will perform at 7:30 p.m. The event is free to students that requested tickets. Any tickets not claimed were opened to the general public. 

Thursday, April 6

Walk a Mile in Their Shoes

Sexual Trauma Services of the Midlands will host the 8th annual Walk a Mile in Their Shoes event from 5:30 to 8 p.m. It a fundraising event to raise awareness for sexual assault and domestic violence. During this event, men, women and children will walk in high heels at the South Carolina Statehouse grounds.

Let's Get Weird: A Surreal Bash

The featured exhibit on display at the Columbia Museum of Art is Salvador Dalí's Fantastical Fairy Tales. Let's Get Weird: A Surreal Bash is a night dedicated to Salvador Dalí and his work. Guests can play Exquisite Corpse and create their own Dalí-esque art projects. DJ Paul Grant, Pedro Ldv and Winston Warner will perform at the event. Tickets are $5 for members and $12 for nonmembers. The event starts at 7 p.m. 

Friday, April 7

Student Choreography Showcase

The University of South Carolina Department of Theatre and Dance will be showcasing students work at the Student Choreography Showcase on April 7 and April 8. The event will occur at the USC dance studios, 324 Sumter St, in room 102. Four original performances choreographed by dance performance majors. These performances debuted at a previous student showcase, but have been further developed for the spring performance. Admission is $5 at the door, the performance starts at 8:30 p.m.

Saturday, April 8

Indie South Spring Market

This two day event will take place at 701 Whaley St. On April 8, the market will be open 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., and on April 7 the market will be open 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. Over 40 local art vendors will be present at the event, and there will also be food and music. Admission is $2.
