A'ja Wilson achieves another milestone in win

Senior forward A'ja Wilson was honored before Thursday's game for reaching 2,000 career points earlier this month. That was only the beginning of a memorable night for her, as she reached another milestone during the game.

Wilson ended the night with 13 rebounds, giving her 1,000 rebounds during her career. She joins Sheila Foster, the program's all-time leading scorer, as the only players in Gamecock history to have 2,000 points and 1,000 rebounds. Wilson also passed her former teammate Tiffany Mitchell for most career SEC points in program history, as she scored 27 on the night.

While Wilson continued to make her mark in the record books, the rest of the Gamecocks also had strong nights to contribute to the 90-42 blowout win. Redshirt junior Alexis Jennings scored 22 points and 10 rebounds, notching her fifth double-double of the season. She also joins Wilson and Tyasha Harris as the only players with five double-doubles this season.

Wilson and Jennings picked up where they left off, working well together to overpower the competition. They were a combined 20-for-29 from the field, while the entire Razorbacks team made just 18 shots from the field.

A few other Gamecocks had career nights in the win. Harris finished the night with 13 rebounds, and passed her career-high of six before the first half was even over. Freshman Bianca Jackson also found success, tying her career-high in points with 16.

South Carolina dominated the game from beginning to end. Jennings scored in the first 11 seconds and the Gamecocks continued to grow their lead from there. They would lead by as much as 45 points during the third quarter.

South Carolina needed this strong win as they head into a tough two games at home. They host No. 11 Missouri on Sunday, who they lost to earlier this month, and then host No. 1 UConn next Thursday.
