Homecoming Step Show 2016

Homecoming Week 2016 at USC continued with the NPHC's energetic, traditional step show.

The historically black fraternities and sororities under the NPHC, or the "Divine Nine," pulled themselves out of the line-up of Homecoming Week events last year, but Thursday night they brought their energetic and cultural show back.

This year's show was at Brookland Banquet and Conference center on Sunset Boulevard. Students cheered in anticipation for the campus-famous show, filling the room with supportive noise before it even began. Members of the fraternities and sororities attended in support of those who were performing the step routines.

Many other students attended as well, including Student Body Vice President Ross Lordo.

"Impressed would be an understatement," Lordo tweeted after the show. "I would fall on my face trying to do that."

The Greeks excited the crowd with their respective routines, which were produced with themes 20-somethings would enjoy. The Zeta Epsilon Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., for example, dawned Toy Story character costumes for a "You've Got a Friend" routine.

As it aims to do every year, the Step Show welcomes all students and exposes them to the culture of the Divine Nine within student life.

The NPHC fraternities and sorority chapters at USC are: Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. and Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Inc.
