Last year's roller coaster season concluded with Dave Odom's team claiming the NIT championship in a 60-57 thriller against St. Joseph's.

The USC women's outdoor track team lived up to a its expectations this season, finishing as the national runner-up June 6 in the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field championships. Tied with UCLA at 48 points, Carolina finished at its best since winning the title in 2002.

Women's basketball regroups

On the heels of back-to-back rebuilding seasons, USC's women's basketball team will return for the 2005-2006 season with a plethora of returning talent.

Playing the role of underdog in an NCAA Tournament regional is not something coach Ray Tanner and his USC baseball team had been accustomed to in the past. Seeded No. 2 in the Atlanta region, the Gamecocks finally met their match, being eliminated by Georgia Tech June 6 in the regional championship game and failing to reach the College World Series for the first time in three seasons.
