Many announcements — including a new anime series, a movie, a playable demo and the release date for “Final Fantasy XV" — came out of the jam-packed Uncovered: "Final Fantasy" event in Los Angeles on Wednesday.
Much as with film, the gaming industry is often flooded with sequels and reboots of old series, simply because they are easier to sell — a financially safer option than creating something new. Luckey announced that the anticipated Oculus Rift VR headset will be sold for $599, which is about $250 more than an Xbox One or PlayStation 4 console bundle. Many expected a lower price point for the upcoming VR headset that would be more in line with the price of a new console, but Luckey surprised most industry professionals with this unforeseen price point.

While not a movie to go down in the books as a true work of art or a movie to watch over and over again, “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay — Part 2” delivers as a strong conclusion to the series.
One of The Daily Gamecock designers decided she wanted to write a list of things she loves and hates, fulfilling her dream of being a trendsetter.
Super Smash Bros. pandemonium is sweeping the Columbia area like never before. On Oct. 17, Columbia will host the inaugural play off in the Heart of the South tournament series, a tourney geared towards competitive gameplay of the mega popular Super Smash Bros. Melee and Wii U titles.

"The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 1" premiered last weekend for the final installment of the Hunger Games series. Despite the cult-like following that the series has accumulated, viewers could very likely leave the theater feeling unsatisfied with first half of the trilogy's final movie.
If I were to guess how many hours I spent playing video games in high school, I would have to round it up to somewhere around 10,000. Perhaps more.
