Jeb Bush to speak at December commencement

It's official: former Florida Governor Jeb Bush will be the commencement speaker this December.

Graduates from all eight USC campuses will pack the Colonial Life Arena  Dec. 15 at 3:30 p.m., 1,949 of which are expected to come from the Columbia campus.

The former governor will receive an honorary degree of doctor of public service, making him the fourth Bush to be honored at a  USC commencement ceremony. His father, President George H.W. Bush; mother, Barbara Bush ; and brother, President George W. Bush have all received honorary degrees from the university over the years.  

The doctoral hooding ceremony will be at 1:30 p.m. Dec. 15 at the Koger Center for the Arts , where Tuskegee University President Brian Johnson will speak.
