The South Carolina baseball team entered Tuesday's contest against Davidson on a five-game losing streak and did not have Noah Campbell, TJ Hopkins and Madison Stokes because of injuries. Despite all of the challenges and a very different lineup, the Gamecocks were able to hold on to a late one-run lead and get the 5-4 win.

South Carolina was unable to find the rhythm that it needed Tuesday night against the Citadel. The Gamecocks managed to only have five hits in the 4-3 loss, which ultimately allowed the Bulldogs to secure their first win in Columbia since 2009.

There were even more fireworks in the second game between South Carolina and Florida, but this time they were a little more positive as the Gamecock offense lit up early and often to get the 15-7 win and the team's first win of conference play. The 15 runs tied the season-high runs scored and the Gamecocks set a new season-high with 16 hits. This was the most runs South Carolina has scored in an SEC game since 2013.

When Adam Hill took the mound on Opening Night a few weeks ago, Gamecock fans expected a lot out of the junior who spent his first two years throwing the Sunday game. Hill didn't have his best stuff which resulted in a loss, but he was determined to not let that game get him down.

The Palmetto Series between the South Carolina and Clemson baseball teams has been nothing short of electric over the past few years, and this year was no different. The Tigers entered Friday's game undefeated and ready for another heated rivalry, but lost the first game at Founders Park. However, Clemson managed to take the series with back to back wins in Greenville and Clemson.

On a cold, windy night in Columbia, South Carolina, South Carolina and Clemson engaged in a low scoring, pitching battle type of game. Both starting pitchers for each team pitched outstanding ballgames with the game being decided by a walk off. In the bottom of the ninth, with runners on first and third, center fielder TJ Hopkins hit a fly ball to left field, deep enough to score the game winning run.

South Carolina's baseball team has found itself in a slump as of late. The Gamecocks have lost their past two games to the likes of Charleston Southern and Furman, both in-state schools that the Gamecocks normally handle with ease. However, if there's something you can learn from both playing and watching baseball, it's that any team can win on any given day, and head coach Mark Kingston and his team found this out first-hand over the past week.
