political season, “Tail! Spin!” offers a glimpse into the more comedic side of government. The play, directed by USC alumnus Jason Stokes, offers comic relief by centering on the sex scandals of politicians Anthony Weiner,
Mark Foley, Larry Craig and South Carolina’s own Mark Sanford. "Tail! Spin!" debuts at
Trustus Theatre this Friday.

The second Soda City Comic Con will kick off this weekend, Aug. 27 and 28. What started out as an idea between Donald Brock Jr., his wife Mary, and partners Steve Powell and Jennifer Epting came to life last year when the first Soda City Comic Con was held in October. Originating from the slang shortening of Columbia to “Cola,” Mary Brock opted to use the colloquial name of “Soda City,” giving Columbia’s convention a unique title.

Josh Hamrick, senior systems designer for Bethesda's "Fallout 4," talked to The Daily Gamecock about his experience with game design and gave tips for aspiring designers. In addition to working on one of the Polygon's Games of the Year, Hamrick also worked for Bungie on blockbuster titles “Halo: Reach” and “Destiny.”

Months before that, “Daredevil” demonstrated that the shadow of Ben Affleck’s planned film wasn’t going to hold back what Marvel had planned. With recent news of “Jessica Jones" being renewed for a second season, we should look at what lies ahead for Marvel’s mature Netflix shows.

Over the holiday break, while kids everywhere were opening up new consoles and games, Oculus founder Palmer Luckey gave a bag of coal to anyone looking forward to virtual reality (VR). Luckey announced that the anticipated Oculus Rift VR headset will be sold for $599, which is about $250 more than an Xbox One or PlayStation 4 console bundle. Many expected a lower price point for the upcoming VR headset that would be more in line with the price of a new console, but Luckey surprised most industry professionals with this unforeseen price point.
