Efforts ramp up across South Carolina to ban DEI programs, books in higher education, public K-12 schools

Efforts have increased across South Carolina to ban DEI programs in the state's public colleges and universities as well as books considered "inappropriate" and containing "obscene materials" for K-12 students. The efforts come as many other states such as Alabama, Florida, Texas and Arkansas have enacted efforts to ban DEI initiatives and books in all public schools.


USC works to implement AI efficiently, responsibly

As artificial intelligence becomes more integrated into academia, USC is taking measures to implement the technology in a safe and efficient way. The university is looking to administer AI certification courses and conduct research on AI algorithms in search engines.


USC plans to launch new sport psychology degree, environmental law certificate in 2025

Pending approval, USC plans to launch a degree in applied sport psychology and counseling and an environmental law and sustainability post-baccalaureate certificate in 2025. The hope is that the new degree will help teach students how mental health can affect a player's performance, while the certificate will look at training participants in how they can help make business practices more sustainable.
