The spicy chicken sandwich arrived at the Russell House Chick-fil-A today.
Jason Johnson, supervisor of the Russell House location, confirmed the hot news.
“I think it’s in celebration of the fact that USC actually did play in the Chick-fil-A Bowl, so as congratulations for it they’re allowing us to unveil it,” Johnson said.
This move levels the playing field between the limited-menu Russell House location and the new restaurant in Five Points.
Chick-fil-A’s website describes the sandwich as “a boneless breast of chicken seasoned with a spicy blend of peppers, hand-breaded, pressure cooked in 100 percent refined peanut oil and served on a toasted, buttered bun with dill pickle chips.”
“I am extremely excited; this is one of the best things that has ever happened to the Russell House,” second-year chemical engineering student Jim Hassell said as he chewed on a regular chicken sandwich. “They also need to bring the chicken biscuit for breakfast because, literally, I come here every day.”
His friend Drew McElwee, a second-year international business student who was eating chicken strips, said he had never had the sandwich but was looking forward to more variety in the Russell House eatery.
