USC mourns a music legend

The late Lou Reed is remembered by students.

Just like much of the world, the University of South Carolina is mourning the loss of a true music legend. Founding member of the group, Velvet Underground, Lou Reed died at age 71 Sunday, the cause of death still officially unannounced. The artist was known to live fast and underwent a liver transplant earlier in the year that could be related to his cause of death.

The New York native produced decades worth of unique and memorable hits like “Walk on the Wild Side,” “Sweet Jane,” and “Satellite of Love.” His music changed with each turn of the century, using inspiration around him to create his music.

People have been buzzing about the news, including USC students who remember their music icon.
