Columbia native murdered at Fort Bragg

A Richland Northeast High School graduate was killed on base at Fort Bragg in North Carolina, The State reports. The FBI is searching for the victim's husband, who has been charged with her murder. A funeral for Iris Armstrong, who was a member of the 82nd Airborne Division, will be held in Columbia on Monday.

SC Republicans skip out on convention

Multiple prominent South Carolina Republicans are skipping the party's national convention, WLTX reports. Sen. Lindsay Graham as well as many other lawmakers will not make the trek to Cleveland for the official nomination of Donald Trump. One of the primary concerns surrounding the convention has been that those in the party who don't support Trump would opt out of the event.

Two charged in North Charleston murder

Two North Charleston men have been charged in connection with a home invasion and death of a 38-year-old man, The Post and Courier reports. Both suspects have been charged with murder as well as two counts of attempted murder, possession of a firearm during commission of a violent crime and six counts of armed robbery.
