USC COVID-19 update: Active cases down slightly to 39

The number of active cases at USC is 39, down from the previous reporting period, according to the COVID-19 dashboard’s latest update.

Of those cases, 29 are students and 10 are university employees. From Oct. 13 to Oct. 15, there were 2,339 tests performed, with 614 still awaiting results. The total percent positive for that time period is 0.29%.

Last week showed a total percent positive of 0.59%, with 1,154 tests performed.

Quarantine/isolation housing has 99.13% of its total capacity available. Quarantine and isolation housing is located in Bates West, the National Advocacy Center, SpringHill Suites and the Holiday Inn Express on Washington Street. 

Testing schedules and locations, which include Davis Field and behind the Student Health Center, can be found on the university's COVID-19 website.

Those experiencing symptoms should make a telemedicine appointment through MyHealthSpace.

A total of 2,549 people have had the coronavirus at USC since Aug. 1, and 2,510 of those have recovered. 

The alert level continues to remain at the lowest level, “New Normal." The alert level is calculated using 11 factors, including testing, on-campus case burden and quarantine and isolation capacity.
