Charleston shooter Dylann Roof has been sentenced to the death penalty after his trial Tuesday afternoon. Roof was responsible for killing 9 African-American members of the Emmanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church, in an act of proclaimed white supremacy, on June 17, 2015. According to the New York Times, the jury of nine came to a verdict about three hours into the trial — after Roof had been charged guilty with 33 counts last month.
