This is a week for celebration. Dawn Staley led her Gamecocks to victory in the national championship against UConn. Everyone on campus should be celebrating this week, regardless of classes or tests. And no celebration is complete without the perfect playlist to get people in the mood to party.

From musicians to muralists, Columbia is filled with artists who strive to bring something new and different into the mainstream environment. This could entail performing with a band or even opening an art gallery. Either way, the arts are alive and growing here in Columbia.

One student's experiences outdoors with her grandmother sprouted a personal passion for gardening. After being unable to find a gardening-centric club on campus accessible to many students, second-year biology student Jackie Taylor started Cocks in the Garden. The club provides students at USC with an easy introduction into gardening.

We’re back for another semester on campus and in person, mostly. Although we’re not ready for classes to start again, we all couldn’t wait to get back to Columbia. For those counting down the hours until Saturday and the long weekend, this playlist will make Friday afternoon go by a little faster. Featuring Carolina favorites like Darius Rucker and Kenny Chesney, everyone will sing along. But, there are also a few songs that welcome us back to the best school in the SEC in a modern way.
