Every student has the right to ignore the elections, to let them pass by, disregard them as some popularity contest that only affects a small group. SG can seem more infamous than famous; it has earned a notoriety from its failed initiatives this semester alone. An expensive iPad program, a near-empty auditorium for State Treasurer Curtis Loftis, a bare Greene Street that should have been filled with Republican presidential hopefuls — the elections often remind us of SG's flaws rather than the candidates' potential.
