Humbly named but ambitious, the student- and alumni-run musical theater club Off-Off Broadway promotes the appreciation of Broadway music and the ideal that anyone is welcome to perform onstage. Their current production, which opens Thursday night and runs until Sunday, is "9 to 5: the Musical" and promotes female empowerment, which is perfectly in line with the club's idealistic mission statement.

Kenneth Branagh’s rendition of “Cinderella” is everything you want it to be and more. Too many remakes have left out your favorite scene from the book or the original production or added an unexpected twist or spin on the original plot that didn’t sit well with the audience. “Confederate
States of America,” a mockumentary by Kevin Willmott, highlights current and
past racial tensions through satire and comedy. The film recounts fictional events
of what the U.S. would be like if the Confederacy had won the Civil War in
documentary format. It recounts history while creating history itself. While the
film contains hilariously twisted comedy, it also provides clear allusions to
how people are still socially segregated today.

Mr. Worldwide is back at it, creating another internationally influenced album attempting to bring club goers and vacationers alike together for one trashy throwdown. If you love repetitive beats, trite titles like “Fun” and “Celebrate” and music that's equal parts hip-hop and reggae, you might stake an interest in Pitbull’s new album “Globalization.”
