The South Carolina softball team was swept in a weekend series against No. 2 Alabama in Tuscaloosa Friday through Sunday.
The South Carolina men’s golf team traveled to Statesboro, Ga., last weekend to compete in the Chris Schenkel Invitational at the Forest Heights Country Club in a 14-team field. The Gamecocks finished the weekend in eighth place.
The South Carolina swimming and diving men’s and women’s teams finished eighth at the SEC Championship, which was held in Knoxville at the University of Tennessee’s Allan Jones Aquatic Center last week.
The South Carolina swimming and diving teams will compete in the SEC Championship in Knoxville, Tenn., starting Wednesday. The championship will run through Saturday, and the Gamecocks will go head-to-head against some of the best squads in the nation — swimming and diving in the SEC.
The Gamecocks defeated the Vanderbilt Commodores and East Carolina Pirates in Friday and Saturday’s home meet at the Blatt P.E. Center/Carolina Natatorium.
After returning from a two-month break last weekend, the South Carolina swimming and diving squads now prepare to face the Georgia Bulldogs, which presents the greatest challenge of the season.
