Brief: USC and Clemson bands to perform joint halftime show in honor of Mother Emanuel victims

The USC and Clemson marching bands will put aside their differences at this Saturday's edition of the storied rivalry to pay tribute to the victims of this summer's Mother Emanuel AME Church shooting in Charleston, The State reports. The two bands will come together at this year's Palmetto Bowl halftime to honor the nine victims of the horrific shooting.

The musical tribute was announced Monday by Clemson University Director of Bands Mark Spede.

The show's theme will be "#SCStrong, A Tribute to the State of South Carolina." It will reportedly conclude with the hymn "Take My Hand, Precious Lord" that was played at the memorial service this summer.
