Man drives to hospital with bullet wound to the head

Authorities in Berkeley County are investigating a shooting after a man drove himself to the hospital with a bullet wound to the head, WIS reports. Deputies from the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Department said the injury was “not significant,” and the man received care and was released from Trident Medical Center. Investigators are now focused on determining the details of the shooting, which is believed to have happened off College Park Road early Wednesday morning.

Teen injured in incident at Jones Gap waterfall

A teenage boy is in good condition after falling from a waterfall at Jones Gap State Park in Greenville County, The State reports. The boy, whose name has not been released, was flown to Greenville Memorial Hospital on Tuesday after falling about 40 feet off Rainbow Falls. Rescuing the boy required a sheriff’s department helicopter. Officials are still investigating the cause of the fall.

Gas line break shuts down road

A gas line break shut down a busy Columbia road Wednesday morning, WIS reports. Firefighters blocked Garners Ferry Road in both directions after the break was reported earlier that day. Buildings also had to be evacuated. The break is believed to have happened in the 8100 block of the Garners Ferry Road.
