OrTre Smith has chosen to wear garnet and black over orange and purple next season.
Touted as a high four-star recruit by 247Sports, Smith is the No. 1 prospect in South Carolina and the No. 16 wide receiver in the nation. Standing at 6-foot-3, Smith is a big-bodied wideout who can out-jump and out-muscle defensive backs.
The Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, native has one more season at Wando High School before joining the Gamecocks in 2017. He will join a busy group, though, and will have to compete with the likes of redshirt sophomore Deebo Samuel and freshman Bryan Edwards, Kiel Pollard and Randrecous Davis.
