Pedestrian sustains 'non-life threatening injuries' in Sumter St. accident

A man was injured early Monday after being hit by a car at the foot of the Horseshoe.

The pedestrian sustained nonlife-threatening injuries after he was hit by a vehicle at the intersection of Sumter and College streets, according to Columbia Police. The accident took place at about 8:30 a.m.

Columbia Police did not issue a citation to the pedestrian, but he is considered "at fault" by police.

USC spokesperson Jeff Stensland also confirmed that an accident resulted in "non-life threatening injuries" and that Columbia Police are handling the incident.
