Jadeveon Clowney involved in Five Points incident

UPDATE 1:45 p.m.: Josh Kendall of The State newspaper was able to contact Clowney, who said he did nothing wrong. 

Clowney said he was told by police he fit the description of an individual suspected in a robbery. He was searched, at which point police determined Clowney had no involvement.

Future South Carolina defensive end and South Pointe High senior Jadeveon Clowney had an encounter with Columbia police early Friday morning in Five Points.

The top recruit in the nation, Clowney was frisked by police outside the Salty Nut bar. Travis Haney of the Charleston Post and Courier is reporting that Clowney fit the description of an individual reported to be carrying a gun. Clowney was searched, no gun was found and he was subsequently released.  

A police report is expected to be released Friday.
