Current USC President Harris Pastides will begin the run at 8 a.m. in front of the Horseshoe on Sumter Street and end in front of the Thomas Cooper Library on Greene Street, according to a press release from BBBSGC. In honor of Sorensen, runners are encouraged to wear bow ties.
Sorensen's involvement with Brothers Big Sisters began shortly after he became president of the University of Alabama, where he mentored a young man as his "Big."
After coming to Columbia, Sorensen joined the board of BBBSGC and would regularly invite "Bigs" and "Littles" to meet the players at USC football games.
