Two men arrested in stabbing before Clemson game

One charged with assault, one with attempted murder in tailgating fight

Two men have been arrested by Richland County police in connection with a stabbing outside Williams-Brice Stadium at around 6:30 p.m. before the Clemson football game on Nov. 26.

Dustin Haile, 24, is charged with attempted murder and Adam Rodriguez, 25, is charged with assault by mob.

Police say the victim, who has remained unnamed, got into a verbal altercation with Haile about moving barricades at a tailgating spot near the stadium. When the fight became physical, Rodriguez came to Haile's aid, punching the victim in the face with his fist, according to a release from the sherriff's department. During the fight, Haile stabbed the victim, sending the victim to the hospital in critical condition, according to the release.

Haile and Rodriguez are both being held in Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
