Police investigate shooting at hookah bar near Horseshoe

Police arrived on the scene at 2 a.m. Sunday to find a man shot in the leg after a fight that took place at a local hookah bar across from the Horseshoe.

Witnesses say both the shooter and the victim were involved in a fight between two groups of people that started inside Club 803 on Sumter Street. Security kicked both parties out of the bar after the alleged shooter broke a beer bottle over the victim's head.

The fight continued into the parking lot, where the shooter is accused of firing multiple times at the victim's group. After one shot hit the victim in the calf, the shooter immediately fled the area on foot going east on Pendleton Street. The victim was taken to the hospital but doctors say he was released by Sunday afternoon.

The shooter is described as a black male with a "mini afro," last seen wearing a green shirt with a big white "L" on the front and white Air Force One Nike tennis shoes. Police say the shooter should be considered armed and dangerous.
