Conservative fiscal policy much needed
We’re less than fifty days from the presidential election. As the days until November 6th decrease, our $16 trillion national debt continues to rise. By the time Democrats held their convention, America’s debt hit an all-time high.
Similar to the running debt clock, we’re counting the days until our chance to save this country. The election is approaching and College Republicans is urging the student body to rally around and vote for Mitt Romney—a move that serves to benefit our future and our wallets.
Young adults are feeling the brunt of the Obama administration’s failures. Traditionally, college graduation was celebrated as an achievement. Today, that sense of accomplishment is overshadowed by two prevalent problems: too few jobs, and too much debt.
Last year, a staggering 53.6 percent of young adults with bachelor’s degrees were jobless or underemployed. And there’s no indication it’s getting better. According to Crossroads Generation, another 42 percent of college grads under 30 have moved back in with their parents.
Unfortunately for college-aged Americans, Obama has failed to keep his promise of rebuilding our economy. And, as much as we all love our parents, it’s our time to build success for ourselves.
It’s imperative that we vote this election, and there are quick and easy ways to register.
On September 20th and September 26th, there will be voter registration drives on Greene Street from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The deadline to register is October 8. Your vote matters.
