Bourbon and bowties

The perfect southern gathering involves smooth bourbon, colorful bowties, local specialties and in one unique case, original advertisements that started the notion that “sex sells.”

To celebrate the close of the South Carolina State Museum’s exhibit “Behind the Springmaid Sheets,” which focuses on a Rock Hill fabric company that saved itself through scandalous advertisements, local entrepreneurs gathered in the first “Bourbon and Bowties” event.

The celebration included South Carolina tie makers, new businesses, the owner of an upcoming bourbon bar and musicians, all to celebrate the success of local markets.
