Kappa Sigma members must find new housing before spring semester starts

After USC's Kappa Sigma chapter's charter was withdrawn earlier this month, Judge Casey Manning ruled this week that the 30 students living in the fraternity house must find alternative living arrangements before the start of next semester.

The fraternity's charter was revoked for the next five years after several violations, including hazing, drug use and alcohol use. The chapter plans to appeal the charter decision come February, according to The State.

Kappa Sigma had been on probation since 2011 for alcohol violations, which ended in August.

Kappa Sigma follows Delta Tau Delta, Alpha Tau Omega and Sigma Phi Epsilon as the fourth fraternity to close since 2011. Delta Tau Delta was also removed from campus earlier in the fall semester.
