Last student senate meeting inspires sentimentality

The last meeting of the 107th student senate Wednesday evening inspired some sentimentality.

Along with some regular business, such as passing bills for money allocations and tabling other legislation, the chairs of various committees gave their final reports of the term. Included in these were expressions of gratitude to their fellow senators and the members of their committees.

Two surprise resolutions were presented and passed at the meeting. The first recognized the service that Logan M. Lebron, sergeant-at-arms, had given to both the student senate and the student body.

The second, presented by President Pro Tempore Ross Lordo, recognized the work that Vice President Lee Goble has put in during his term as vice president and throughout his years in Student Government. Before the meeting adjourned, Goble delivered a few closing statements expressing his gratitude to the senators and his pride in everything they accomplished, particularly the fact that they passed more legislation than any other student senate.

As part of his comments, to those who would not be returning to Student Government, he said, "While our time here is done, the work is not."
