Several injured in night club shooting

A shooting at a Myrtle Beach nightclub left at least five people injured, The State reports. The incident occurred at Pure Ultra Club at about 2:30 a.m. Saturday, and the suspect reportedly fled on foot. The injured victims' conditions are unknown. According to Lt. Joey Crosby, Myrtle Beach police are investigating the incident.

Midlands woman urges passers-by to get out the vote

Social worker Minnie Thomas took to the streets of Columbia on Saturday to remind people to go vote in the 2016 presidential election, WLTX reports. While Thomas was not rallying for a particular candidate, she urged people to use their voice via ballot. "If we don't have a voice by way of vote," Thomas said to some people sitting outside, "then technically we may not have a voice at all."

Man charged after body found near chained woman

Spartanburg County Coroner Rusty Clevenger seeks to identify the body found near a woman chained in a storage container, WIS reports. The body was found on rural 95-acre property on Thursday and exhumed Friday night. Todd Christopher Kohlhepp is charged with kidnapping. A prosecutor said that the woman witnessed her captor shoot and kill her boyfriend.
