Summer gym patrons will need a new parking strategy, as access to Park Street beside Strom Thurmond Wellness and Fitness Center has been closed for the time being.
According to a Wednesday email from associate director of campus recreation Kim Dozier, the road will be inaccessible due to ongoing expansion of the North Energy Facility. Dozier did not provide a date for the road's re-opening.
Park Street leads to the Strom parking lot immediately off of Blossom Street before ending in a roundabout surrounded by the facility's soccer fields.
In the email, Dozier stated access to a "limited number" of spaces in the lot will take place via Lincoln Street instead. She also advised that spaces will be available in the N2 lot at the intersection of Assembly and Blossom, just outside Carolina Coliseum.
