Details emerge in takedown of Charleston restaurant shooter

A police sharpshooter killed a disgruntled employee with a single shot to end a hostage standoff at a Charleston restaurant. The update in the case was released by an attorney, and SLED confirmed the incident was ended by police gunfire. Thomas Demetrius Burns shot and killed the executive chef of Virginia's On King on Aug. 24., then took others in the restaurant hostage for two hours, The Post and Courier reports.
