Man seen in journalism school women's restrooms, email sent to faculty

An email sent to USC's College of Information and Communications faculty members on Wednesday morning detailed the sighting of a man in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication's women's restrooms.

Tom Reichert, dean of the College of Information and Communications, stated in the email that the man had been seen in the restrooms several times and urged faculty to contact USCPD if seen again.

Reichert's email included a photo of the suspect wearing a long-sleeved gray T-shirt, dark Nike pants, white sneakers and a dark backpack.

On Monday, USC's Law and Safety Enforcement division released a crime bulletin alerting students of a man entering the women's restrooms in both the Jones Physical Science Building and Hamilton College. The suspect is alleged to have reached underneath adjacent stalls in in an attempt to fondle students while they were using the restroom.

The crime bulletin describes the suspect as a black male standing at approximately 6 feet tall and weighing approximately 180 pounds. The bulletin's description of the suspect's clothing matches the picture attached to this morning's email from Reichert, though no connection has been officially confirmed.
