Choose your own adventure: DIY show

The indie guys laugh. Their pointedly bored expressions soften. Nose Ring Boy high-fives you and tells you to follow them around back. They take you to an open garage, where a few groups of people are standing around while a band sets up on a makeshift stage made out of plywood. You’ve made it into the show! That was the easy part. Quick! Choose someone to hang out with so you don’t look lame! You see:

Choose one.

Three girls standing in a corner off to the side. They’re all wearing crop tops and Doc Martens. One of them appears to be on the verge of tears. The other ones are comforting her.

Two kids who look about 14 are standing off to the side fiddling with a lighter, looking particularly angry and full of punk bravado.

A larger group of young people is forming near the “stage.” Some of them are messing with lights, some of them are getting instruments set up and some of them are just waiting around for the show to start.
