(PHOTOS) No. 13 South Carolina football wins Aflac Kickoff Game against Virginia Tech

The No. 13 South Carolina football team defeated the Virginia Tech Hokies 24-11, winning the Aflac Kickoff Game on Aug. 31, 2025, at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia. Redshirt sophomore quarterback LaNorris Sellers threw for 209 yards and rushed for 62 yards, recording one throwing touchdown and one rushing touchdown. Redshirt sophomore defensive back Vicari Swain scored the remaining touchdown on an 80-yard punt return. Head coach Shane Beamer, an alumnus of Virginia Tech and son of the school's all-time winningest head coach, reminded South Carolina fans that he was born in Charleston, South Carolina, and was a Gamecock fan before his father coached at Virginia Tech during the trophy ceremony.
