As crazy as it sounds, the cause makes the sore legs and tired eyes completely worth it. It’s all “For The Kids," or FTK, as marathoners say.

University Housing is sponsoring the Tunnel of Awareness 2016 series for the third consecutive year at USC. Tunnel of Awareness is a literal tunnel containing a series of exhibits that allows participants to gain greater insight on various social injustices that plague local communities and areas across the country. Each portion of the exhibit will offer multiple perspectives on a wide variety of social awareness topics, such as racial and transgender issues and topics regarding mental health.

For the past 30 years, the passionate South Carolina-Clemson rivalry has extended beyond the football field and into philanthropic domain with the annual South Carolina-Clemson blood drive competition. This year, for the 31st annual blood drive contest, South Carolina took home the gold — for the eighth year in a row.

During Monday’s Fraternity Council meeting, the council voted to pass or veto proposed changes made to the Council by-laws. The end vote was unanimous in favor of the changes. Although the changes proposed were discussed in previous meetings and sent out to council members prior to voting, the council was given a brief summary of the changes before voting began.

On Thursday, a special Diversity Dialogue series was held as part of the Creed and Diversity Week celebration. The Office of Multicultural and Student Affairs — who regularly plan the Diversity Dialogue events — partnered with the Greek Programming Board to sponsor a session titled "Social Justice in Greek Life." Affiliates of various fraternities and sororities as well as members of IPC, NPC, NPHC and the LGBTQ+ community attended the discussion to discuss current issues in Greek Life.

This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Carolinian Creed. In light of the Creed’s long-standing presence on campus, the Office of
Student Conduct & Academic Integrity and the Carolina Judicial Council (CJC)
sponsored a weeklong celebration in its honor: Creed & Diversity
Week. Thirteen different offices and student organizations worked together to plan and execute
this annual celebration.
