The Department of Religious Studies held the 15th annual Bernardin Lecture on Tuesday, in honor of the late Joseph Cardinal Bernardin — an American cardinal of the Catholic Church who served as Archbishop of Chicago until his death in 1996. This year’s speaker was religious leader, attorney, poet and public speaker Sister Simone Campbell.

Typically, when University of South Carolina students make the trip to an opponent’s campus for an away game, phrases like “overwhelming hospitality” and “incredibly welcoming” are not frequently used when describing student experience on foreign SEC territory. The exception, however, was this weekend’s “home game” in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

In light of the devastating flooding that struck Columbia this weekend, Saturday’s home game against LSU has been moved to Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Kick-off time is set for Saturday 3:30 p.m. ET.

Every fall, the parents of University of South Carolina students invade campus for
Parents Weekend. This annual event gives parents the chance to see how their student
lives and thrives during his or her time on campus, as well as allowing them to
see the university through the eyes of a student. Throughout this last weekend,
parents could pick and choose from more than 85 different activities.
