Gamecocks land 16th commitment

Three-star wide receiver Kelvin Harmon of Palmyra High School in Palmyra, New Jersey officially committed to the University of South Carolina Thursday afternoon.

The highly-touted recruit announced his commitment at a press conference held at his high school at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday afternoon.

Harmon then took to Twitter to reiterate his commitment.

The six-foot-three receiver became the Gamecocks’ 16th commitment in their 2016 recruiting class. According to 247Sports’ composite rankings, Harmon is the 89th-ranked wide receiver in the 2016 cycle, but many analysts believe the 195-pound senior will have an immediate impact in the Gamecock passing game.

Harmon is the 15th-best player in the state of New Jersey and is the third wide receiver recruit for the Gamecocks in the 2016 class.

Harmon chose South Carolina over North Carolina, Rutgers, Temple and West Virginia.
