Carolina Ale House, The Saloon among local bars offering popular group activity

Karaoke nights: Thursday & Friday 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.
Columbia's go-to country bar hosts not one but two karaoke nights every week. If you can find enough liquid courage in the Five Points bars to feel like you have what it takes to wow a crowd, take control of the microphone during the Saloon's "Country Karaoke." The Saloon is only open to patrons age 21 and up.

Art Bar
1211 Park St.
Karaoke night: Wednesday at 7 p.m.
Art Bar, every over-21 hipster's hangout, is one of the Vista's most popular karaoke bars every Wednesday night. Voted "Best Karaoke" in the Free Times' readers' poll seven years in a row, "Mr. B's Goodtime Karaoke Explosion" makes a weekly stop at the Park Street bar, giving aspiring singers a chance to show off their stuff. There is no cover charge, and drinks are 25 percent off from 7 to 8 p.m.

Carolina Ale House

Karaoke night: Tuesday at 8 p.m. & Friday at 9 p.m.
Looking for a good burger, a beer and a place to embarrass yourself in public? Carolina Ale House on Columbiana Drive has those bases covered with "Red Eye Karaoke" every Tuesday and Friday. Bring a group and belt out popular tunes while enjoying dinner and drinks.

Tsubaki Restaurant and Lounge
224 O'Neil Court (near Columbia Place Mall)
Karaoke nights: Tuesday – Saturday 6 p.m. to 2 a.m.
Tsubaki is the only all-week karaoke restaurant in Columbia. The restaurant offers a large song selection, which includes popular tunes in several languages including English, Japanese, Chinese, Korean and Spanish. The open lounge is available for all restaurant patrons with a cover of $1 per song for singers. Tsubaki also has private karaoke rooms available for rent, with prices starting at $20 an hour for the small karaoke room (maximum eight people). The restaurant offers a variety of food and drink specials daily. Since Tsubaki is a restaurant as well as a bar, patrons under 21 are welcome to join in the karaoke fun until 10 p.m. each night.
