ONLINE EXCLUSIVE: All Time Low, The Ready Set, Paradise Fears bring energetic show to SC

Pop-punk bands delight crowd at House of Blues

Baltimore-based band All Time Low gave fans an interactive experience well worth the ticket price when the "Rise and Fall of My Pants" tour stopped in Myrtle Beach, S.C., on Saturday night.

Coming with opening acts Paradise Fears and The Ready Set, the House of Blues hosted the boys of All Time Low, offering a smaller venue than the usual arenas the band plays.

Notorious for its seemingly never-ending tour schedules, the Rise and Fall of My Pants tour is stopping in smaller cities the band doesn't usually get to stop in.

This tour also gave fans the opportunity to hear some songs played live that All Time Low has not played on tour recently, such as "Six Feet Under the Stars," "Stay Awake (Dreams Only Last for a Night)" and "Heroes," a never-before-played song off the latest album "Dirty Work."

The opening bands set the tone for the night, bringing tremendous energy and excitement to the stage. Since the first band, Paradise Fears, was lesser known than The Ready Set and All Time Low, the group gave fans an opportunity to sing along by playing a cover of Fountains of Wayne's 2003 hit "Stacy's Mom."

Even though not many fans knew the words to their songs, the members of Paradise Fears kept up the energy on stage, putting their all into every song.

The Ready Set was the most anticipated act besides All Time Low. Since the band has a strong fan base, there were several people who went to the show only to see The Ready Set.

The entire band was bouncing with energy as soon as they came on stage, never standing still for long periods of time, especially when it came to Jordan Witzigreuter. The Ready Set's lead singer never stopped bouncing around and running all over the stage, pumping the crowd up and shouting "Thank you!" at the top of his lungs after every song.

The Ready Set ended its set with the hit "Love Like Woe," giving the audience a chance to jump up and down and sing along.

After much anticipation, the members of All Time Low finally arrived on stage, having their merchandise manager introduce them by appearing in lederhosen and playing a flute before the boys came out.

Although All Time Low makes phenomenal music, it takes seeing the band live to really understand what it is all about.

The banter among the four boys, the madness of teenage girls throwing their bras to guitarist Jack Barakat to hang them on his microphone stand, lead singer and guitarist Alex Gaskarth's provoking and teasing of Barakat and a guest appearance by Hey Monday's lead singer Cassadee Pope during the acoustic song "Remembering Sunday" were among concert highlights.

Although Gaskarth stated later on in the night that his voice was sore and worn down, his vocals still sounded spot on, and he gave his all. And despite his vocal troubles, Gaskarth put on a private acoustic show for several fans who waited by the tour buses after the show.

He played a cover of Wheatus' "Teenage Dirtbag" for fans and then went back into the tour bus, apologizing that he couldn't stay and take photos with them.

All Time Low put on quite the show for Myrtle Beach and gave the fans their money's worth.

The band also stated that its music video for the song "Time-Bomb" will be out soon, though the group didn't give a specific release date.
