Seniors receive top awards

Accomplished students were honored at the annual Awards Day on the Horseshoe Thursday.

The brisk air and dark clouds added an air of prestige to the ceremony as undergraduates were recognized for their academics, service or extracurricular achievements.

Outstanding senior and rising senior awards were given from a variety of USC's colleges and departments. President Harris Pastides presented the Algernon Sydney Sullivan, the university's highest honor, to Christina Galardi, a fourth-year public relations student, and
Nicholas Riley, a fourth-year chemistry student. Pastides also presented the Steven N. Swanger Leadership award to Elizabeth Ruth Wilson, a fourth-year student who has five majors in the Darla Moore School of Business.
